ABOUT THE POSITION
We are currently seeking a dynamic Child, Adolescent, and Family Services (CAFS) Coordinator to join our team at our office in Washington, Washington county. The CAFS Coordinator reviews BHRS packets for completeness and the meeting of medical necessity criteria, makes appropriate certification decisions or seeks consultation or peer review when needed; collaborates with providers to ensure that the level of care determination is appropriate and facilitates the coordinator of care.
Position
Responsibilities:
Coordinates with other professionals to ensure that the comprehensive treatment needs of members referred to or receiving BHRS are met
Facilitates and participates in interagency team meetings; promotes clinical discussion at the interagency team meeting to improve the accuracy of level of care decision; discusses full array of appropriate service options at the meeting
Reviews BHRS referral packet for medical appropriateness
Coordinates with the BHRS Supervisor to refer BHRS packets that do not meet medical necessity criteria to peer review
Ensures continuity of care through contact with providers
Manages, reviews and coordinates the care of members receiving BHRS
Maintains confidentiality and ethical and professional standards
Applies VBH policies and procedures consistently
Maintains individual productivity and performance standards
Interfaces with external and internal customers to ensure optimal efficiency of services
Contributes to staff meetings and clinical conferences
Position Requirements:
Education : Master's Degree in a mental health related field required (or appropriate education with RN license)
Licensure : Licensure in a mental health related field required (RN, LSW, LPC, Licensed psychologist, etc.)
Relevant Work
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment. Must include experience working with children/adolescents.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Community based experience preferred.
Established knowledge of and work experience with the Medicaid affiliated population desired.
Basic computer skills required, including Word
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
